Six days Skill Training Programme on Mushroom Production Techniques under Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) concluded

Chandel, 4/12/2019: Six days Skill Training Programme on Mushroom Production Techniques under Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) was concluded today at KVK Chandel. The Skill Training programme was organized by KVK Chandel from 28th November to 4th December, 2019 in association with the State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Manipur & National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. The Valedictory function was attended by  Shri Atibal Singh, IFS (Retire) and Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, UP; Dr. N. Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre and Dr. Deepak Singh, Head and Sr. Scientist, KVK Chandel as the presidium members.  Altogether, 20 Rural Youths were trained on the Production of Mushroom Techniques. During the Valedictory function, shri Atibal Singh expressed that the trained youths will hone their skill in production of the mushroom and sustain their livelihood. Dr. N. Prakash highlighted that the Government of India have emphasis Skill Development and Entrepreneurship development for the youths and farmers of India and various schemes were launched for training and start up programme. He encouraged the youths and the farmers to avail the opportunities. He added that ICAR and KVKs will impart skill training as required by the youth and farmer  and asked to come forward for any technical help. The Keynote address was given by Dr. Deepak Singh, Head and Sr. Scientist. In his addressed, he informed the participants that mushroom production can be integrated with other farming activities for generating income and sustaining their livelihood. The valedictory programme was also attended by staff of KVK Chandel.
