Chandel 16/07/2018: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chandel, as a part of Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan (KKA), has launched a 3-day residential training programme on “Production of Kharif oilseed and cereals for grain and seed” at the conference hall of the KVK in Chandel and sponsored by ATMA. The residential training will be till 18/07/2018. Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Nodal Officer, KVK, Chandel in his keynote address elaborated on the various activities carried out under Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan which started from June. The programmes under the KKA in Chandel in convergence with the State Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and other line departments aimed at doubling farmers’ income by 2022. Under this, 25 villages in Chandel district have been covered, he said. P Rajendra Singh, Director, Department of Agriculture, Letkhogin Haokip, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture and Krishna Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel spoke at the event and urged the farmers at the programme to utilize the knowledge they gain during the training programme.
Earlier, a review meeting of activities undertaken under KKA was held at the chamber of Deputy Commissioner, Chandel. The meeting was chaired by Krishna Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel. The review meeting was attended by Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Nodal Officer, KKA, Chandel, staff of KVK Chandel and line departments.
