Programme on PM interaction with Scientists and Farmers Cum Awareness Programme on Climate Resilient Varieties, Technologies and Practices was conducted today at KVK Chandel. Shri S. Mothel, SDC, Chandel and Shri Ng.Vincent, Chief of Monsangpantha village, Chandel were the presidium members. During the inaugural speech, Shri S. Mothel was delighted to hear the new Climate Resilient Varieties to be released by Honourable Prime Minister and advancement on identifying Promising Short duration drought tolerant crop by scientists. He expressed that the farmers will abundantly benefitted. Shri Ng.Vincent also expressed his happiness on the advancement of science and technology and encouraged farmers to adopt the new technologies. The welcome and keynote address was given by Dr. Y. Prabhabati Devi, SMS (Home Science). Thereafter, virtually the speech and interaction between the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and farmers was telecasted and witnessed by the dignitaries and farmers. Thereafter the PM interaction programme, an awareness programme on the topic Climate Resilient Varieties, Technologies and Practices was held and followed by scientist- farmer interaction which was led by subject matter specialists – Dr. Kl. Levish Chongloi, SMS(Agronomy); Ts. Leenda Monsang, SMS(Plant Breeding); Dr. Y. Prabhabati Devi, SMS(Home Science); Dr. K. Sonamani Singh, SMS(Agril. Engg.) and Ps Lavid Anal, SMS(Horticulture). Inputs were also distributed to the farmers. 129 farmers and staff of KVK Chandel attended the programme. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Ps Lavid Anal, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Chandel.
